Bringing the PGA Champions Tour to Savannah calls for a strategic plan and heavy media support.
THE CHALLENGE
April was already a busy month for golf in Georgia and South Carolina. When the PGA Champions Tour selected Savannah for this event, it was good news but there were many challenges, including the close date and proximity to the Heritage at Sea Pines, as well as whether the Savannah area and Low Country would support this event. Beginning with the Legends of Golf’s first event and over the next six years, RobMark served as the agency of record.
THE ROBMARK STRATEGY
RobMark created and implemented a strategic plan, including grassroots and media support, increased local sponsorships, and other critical elements necessary for success.
THE RESULTS
RobMark’s contributions were successful, completed on time and within budget, delivered the client a tremendous return on investment, and an unprecedented 100 percent media participation level among all TV, radio, and newspaper outlets in Savannah. The tournament quadrupled ticket sales during its first year in Savannah and enjoyed increased participation and ticket sales throughout its partnership with RobMark.
