As the 2010 election draws to a close, most of us are breathing a sigh of relief as this marks the end of the 2010 onslaught of political advertising! However, the media may not be so happy. Election spending this year may top $3 BILLION! Every political season advertising becomes "precarious" in a number of mediums as regular month-in month-out advertisers get "bumped", moved or otherwise removed from the airwaves to make way for political ads. Keeping up with this is not fun and can be to the detriment of regular advertising clients when ads can not be placed or made up.
