Paddle Georgia
RobMark helps develop a strategic communications plan, working with opposing groups to develop a peaceful resolution.
THE CHALLENGE
More than 300 canoeists and kayakers from Georgia and other areas participating in Paddle Georgia were reportedly planning to protest as they passed by the Rayonier pulp mill along the Altamaha River.
THE ROBMARK STRATEGY
RobMark’s strategic plan included welcoming the Paddle Georgia participants, working with stakeholders, crisis communications preparedness, providing scientific and operational data to address environmental concerns, media training for mill leadership, internal and external communications, grassroots engagement, and community outreach.
THE RESULTS
There was no protest and the feedback from the majority of Paddle Georgia participants as well as overall media coverage were positive.
