- Crisis Communications
DeSoto Hilton
A tragic event at a Savannah hotel calls for a thoughtful crisis communications strategy.
THE CHALLENGE
A hotel maintenance worker found the body of a dead soldier in a maintenance area. Sadly, the soldier was missing for nearly two weeks and although not a hotel guest, was last seen alive outside the building. It was not immediately certain if he was the victim of a crime.
THE ROBMARK STRATEGY
This was a tragic situation and it was critical to respect the needs of the victim’s family and friends as well as law enforcement and the hotel’s employees and guests. RobMark respected law enforcement and safety concerns while organizing and sharing factual, priority information with the hotel’s employees, guests, and the media.
THE RESULTS
Internal and external communications, media coverage and sensitive issues were addressed and police determined that the death was an accident and that there was no wrongdoing.
